The Voltumna project is born in the early 2000's initially as the dream of a group of friends that loved drinking abundantly and that one day wondered if wine was harmful for your health due to alcohol or to all the chemicals allowed in conventional wine, mostly all the pesticides. In order to answer that question they started making wine in the most natural fashion possible. Today the winery is lead by Marzio Politi, who pushes forward the ideal of genuine and terroir-driven wine in Tuscany's pristine Mugello area, close to Firenze and at the foothills of the Appennino mountains at about 300mt of altitude. Work in the vineyard is regulated by the principle of the biodynamics and is just as natural in the cellar as well. These are wines of wonderful drinkability and of immense depth and structure, marrying a rustic spirit with ethereal and subtle elegance
