It cannot be denied that Ribolla is the most iconic and representative of Radikon’s grapes, it was the lost taste of Ribolla in the mid 90’s that prompted the late Stanko to search and return to a more primal and authentic way of making wine. The 2014 vintage, albeit young, already impresses for kaleidoscopic depth and dynamic freshness. Ribolla 100% from 35-50 years old vines farmed naturally and way beyond organics. Hand-picked and harvested at full maturity, the grapes see wild fermentation in open wooden vats and then skin contact of 4 months. Imposing yet unbelievably fresh fruit and vibrant complexity: chargrilled walnuts with hibiscus honey, ripe Miyazaki mango braised with brown chestnut butter, yellow plum and caramelised rye bread with saffron and cinnamon. No added SO2 nor fining or filtering.
