LIRAC
Eric’s Lirac is a majestic natural wine, a cuvee of 60% Grenache noir, blanc and gris, 20% Clairette rose and blanche and 20% Mourvedre, all from organic agriculture and many from old vines, which see a carbonic maceration in whole bunches of 2-4 weeks depending on the vintage. We’re in the Southern Rhone, not far from Avignone, in a terroir priced for its rosès and characterised by soils of white clay, gravel, sand and limestone. Never being overbearing as it often happens, carbo here supplies an electric punch to a wine of depth and concentration: tamarind confit with wild peppermint, sour cherries confit with Hymalayan pink salt, spiced pomegranate and red curry.
