MONTEMATTINA 2016
Montemattina is Sancho Panza’s elder brother, aging in steel one more year, and gains its name from the beautiful Fiano vineyard in Campania’s Irpinia mountainous area, located at 800m of altitude. It sees an extended skin contact of 60 days during fermentation, aging of 2 years and minimal added SO2. It’s a Fiano of immense presence and complexity, already beyond delightful and with an extremely long life ahead. It enraptures with complex notes of medlar fruit with wild mint and bay leaves, bitter orange marmalade with hay and dried jackfruit, roasted spiced Brazilian nuts and medlar fruit.
