IASTEMMA 2015
Iastemma means “bestemmia” in Campania dialect, which means “bestemmia” in Italian, meaning “blasphemy” but actually so much more, as it points to a libertarian credo defying both church and government. Having said that, this is probably the most delicious Falanghina around. Why blasphemy? Because conventional Falanghina are bubble gum-flavored transparent abominations. This? This is Falanghina glorified by 6 months of skin contact, distilling the very soul of grapes and terroir. Tannic, powerful and uncompromising yet drinkable as hell: grilled kumquat with red tobacco and cedar wood, smoked lychees with saffron and yellow plums.
