LA VIGNE DU CLOU 2018
Yet another Bourgogne natural wine supernova of exceptional depth and unbridled energy from master Alexandre Jouveaux. This is 100% Chardonnay from an extremely old parcel of organically and biodynamically tended vines near the village of Uzichy, north of Macon. It is however, and fortunately we might add, worlds apart from any Maconnaise you might have tried. Natural fermentation with native yeasts in the cellar, elevage in old barrels and no fining, filtration or added SO2. Fresh as Spring’s morning dew yet deep as longing for the infinite: luminous quartz crystals, yellow plums with red basils, elderflower and Assam tea.
